Niagara Falls Planning Board

The Niagara Falls Planning Board was created under Article XVII Section 17.4 of the Niagara Falls City Charter. The Planning Board is composed of nine (9) members who are appointed by City Council for three (3) year terms. Planning Board meetings are generally scheduled twice per month; however, meetings may be cancelled due to lack of agenda items or quorum. The Board is led by the Chairman and Vice Chairman. Unless otherwise noted, the board meets on Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 745 Main Street.

Niagara Falls Historic Preservation Commission

The City of Niagara Falls Historic Preservations (HPC) commission was formed under Chapter 1335 Section 1335.04 of the Historic Preservation Law of the city of Niagara Falls. The HPC is composed of seven (7) members appointed by the Mayor or City Council for a four (4) year term. HPC meetings are generally scheduled on the first Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 745 Main Street. Meetings may be cancelled due to lack of agenda items or quorum.

Niagara Falls Urban Renewal Agency

The Niagara Falls Urban Renewal Agency was established in and by General Municipal Law §593 in 1964.  Its original and continued mission is to revitalize, redevelop and eliminate slums and blighted areas of the established Urban Renewal District. The Agency was formed for the purposes specified in General Municipal Law Article 15 and 15-A, and has the powers and duties conferred by those Articles. NFURA is governed by a ten (10) member board, whose members include the Mayor, City Council Members, and four (4) private sector members selected by the Mayor and approved by City Council.
NFURA generally meets once per quarter at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 745 Main Street. Meetings may be cancelled due to lack of agenda items or quorum.
