Property Taxes

The City of Niagara Falls, Niagara County, and the Niagara Falls City School District levy a number of different types of taxes, which enable the funding of many public services — including police and fire protection, road repair and maintenance, the local education system, enforcement of health and safety regulations that protect residents and businesses, and much more.




Below is an overview of the taxes residents and businesses may pay in the City of Niagara Falls:

City Property Tax
Property tax is related to the value of the property you own and includes all property types such as residential, commercial, or industrial.

City Property Tax can be paid at City Hall in Room 109 (checks are to be made payable to the “City Controller”).

City School District Tax
City School District Tax can be paid at City Hall in Room 109 (checks are to be made payable to the “School District Treasurer”).

Month of August Month of November


 
Niagara County Tax
Niagara County Tax can be paid at City Hall in Room 109 (checks are to be made payable to the “Niagara County Treasurer”).

Niagara County Tax is due between February 15th and March 15th. Penalties for late payments are as follows: 

February 15th to March 15th no fees
March 16th to April 15th 2%
April 16th to May 1st 5%
