Niagara Falls Recognizes June as “Pride Month”

On Monday, June 1, Mayor Robert Restaino and members of the Niagara County Pride Committee took part in a flag raising ceremony in front of City Hall to celebrate the beginning of “Pride Month.”

According to CNN ( https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/01/health/pride-month-origin-trnd/index.html, Archie & Griggs) the original organizers chose this month to pay homage to the Stonewall uprising in June 1969 in New York City, which helped spark the modern gay rights movement.
