City Clerk’s Office
The City Clerk’s Office is a customer service oriented Office that serves the public by issuing various types of licenses, copies of Vital Records, and providing general information relating to other City Departments in a professional, courteous and timely manner.
City Controller’s Office
The Office of the City Controller is responsible for overseeing and maintaining all financial records of the City. The office develops and makes recommendations on the financial policies and procedures relating to financial services and internal controls to provide reasonable assurance of the accuracy and reliability of the accounting data. Accounting practices are in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Governmental Accounting Standards.
As a Code Enforcement Department, our primary objective and duty is to protect the public safety through the enforcement of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code together with all local codes and ordinances.

Human Resources Department

Management Information Services
The MIS Department reports to the City Administrator and is responsible for coordinating the Information Services Team projects as well as the planning and organization of Information Services. The MIS staff and assists in evaluating and scheduling project/work order requests. They are responsible for the administration, operation, maintenance, user support and software development for the city’s main platform, an IBM Power 720 Express and the administration of the New World Systems Public Administration software package.
NFC Development Corp
N.F.C. Development Corp. was established in 1980 by the City Council as a not-for-profit corporation under Section 402 of the New York State Not- For-Profit Corporation Law. Its original and continued mission is to provide programs relieving and reducing unemployment, bettering and maintaining job opportunities, providing aid to attract new business or retain business and industry within the City of Niagara Falls, New York. N.F.C. is governed by 19 Directors, which include the Mayor and City Council, the Niagara Falls Urban renewal Directors, and 9 private sector directors selected and approved by the N.F.C Members.

Public Works and Parks
The Purchasing Division is responsible for overseeing the procurement process. It is the City of Niagara Falls intent to have a purchasing policy which will build and maintain good community and vendor relationships while, at the same time, obtaining goods and services required at the best possible price.
Risk Management Department
The purpose of the Risk Management Department is to protect the City from losses arising out of claims against the City. This encompasses all City insurance matters. Liability, automobile, property, worker’s compensation and health insurances are examples of the kind of insurances which the Risk Manager uses to protect the City.
Urban Renewal Agency
Its original and continued mission is to revitalize, redevelop and eliminate slums and blighted areas of the established Urban Renewal District.
