Dog License

In New York State you are required to obtain a Dog License after your dog reaches 4 months old.

The License must be renewed every year

Application Process

 

  • Make application in person at the office of the City Clerk
  • You must bring with you proof that your dog has up to date rabies vaccination
  • If your dog is spayed or neutered proof must be submitted
  • Discounts are given to Senior Citizens over 65 years of age (proof of age required)
  • Payments can be made by cash, check or money order

 

Renewal Process

Your dog license renewal can be processed in person or by mail.

  • Follow the directions on your Renewal Applications
  • Bring or mail proof of rabies vaccination
  • Bring or mail proof of spayed or neutered Dogs
  • Bring or mail proof of owners age if 65 years of age to receive the discount
  • Payment can be made by cash, check or money order.
  • Enclose a self – addressed stamped envelope

The senior discount is $5.00

The late fee for an expired dog license is $10.00

 If your dog is brought to the SPCA and must be redeemed the fees are as follows:

1st offense    $50.00

2nd offense   $100.00

3rd offense   $150.00
